Who is this?
Hoshaiah is named in Nehemiah 12 among the leaders of who took part in the great dedication of the rebuilt walls of during the governorship of Nehemiah. He walked at the head of one of the two processional companies that circled the wall in opposite directions before converging at for the celebration. Beyond this ceremonial role in Nehemiah 12, the biblical text gives no further information about him, though a different person named Hoshaiah appears in Jeremiah 42–43 in connection with the events following the fall of Jerusalem.
