Prophet in the second year of who rouses the returned community to resume rebuilding after years of neglect. He challenges the people for living in paneled houses while Yahweh's house lies in ruins, promising that the latter glory of this house will be greater than the former. Through four dated oracles he addresses the governor and the high priest Jeshua, sealing the message with a promise that Zerubbabel will be made like a signet ring.
