Who or what is this?
Hadad was an prince of the royal house who escaped to as a young child when and 's army killed the males of Edom in a campaign that lasted six months. received him kindly, gave him a house and provisions, and later gave him the sister of his own queen as a wife, by whom Hadad had a son named Genubath. After hearing that both David and Joab were dead, Hadad requested permission to return to his own country. He returned and became an adversary of , stirring up trouble against Israel throughout Solomon's reign. His story is told in 1 Kings 11 alongside other adversaries whom God raised up against the aging Solomon.
