Who or what is this?

Gomer was the firstborn son of and grandson of , listed in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10:2–3 and repeated in 1 Chronicles 1:5–6. His sons were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah, names associated in later tradition with peoples of Anatolia and regions to the north. In 38, Gomer and Beth-togarmah appear among the allies of the northern prince Gog in the prophetic vision of an end-time invasion, described as 'all his bands' coming 'from the north parts.' The descendants of Gomer are thus placed in the prophetic imagination as peoples of the far north associated with future conflict against Israel.
