Who or what is this?
Elizur son of Shedeur was the appointed leader of the tribe of during the ' sojourn in the wilderness. He is named in Numbers 1 when and conduct the census at , where he assists in counting the men of Reuben fit for military service. He appears again in Numbers 2 as the commander responsible for organizing the encampment. In the account of the tabernacle dedication in Numbers 7, Elizur presents Reuben's dedicatory offering on the fourth day, bringing the full complement of silver, gold, incense, and sacrificial animals that the other tribal leaders also brought.
