was the son of Nahor and Milcah, making him the nephew of (Genesis 22:20–23). He lived in in the city of Nahor, and his household figures prominently in Genesis 24 when Abraham's servant comes seeking a wife for . Bethuel acknowledges that the servant's errand comes from the LORD and consents along with his son to give in marriage. He is the father of both Rebekah, who became Isaac's wife, and Laban, under whom later served.
