Who or what is this?
King of at the time of , Bera is named in Genesis 14 as one of five kings who fought a prolonged war against king of and his three allied kings. After twelve years of subjugation, the five kings rebelled and met their enemies in the valley of Siddim, where they were routed and the cities of Sodom and were plundered. Among those captured in the defeat was Lot, Abraham's nephew. After Abraham pursued and defeated Chedorlaomer and recovered the captives, Bera met him in the king's valley and offered to take the people while leaving the goods to Abraham, an offer Abraham declined so as to owe nothing to Sodom.
