Son of who succeeds him as king of . During the reign of Jehoahaz, Yahweh gives Israel into the hand of Hazael and Ben-Hadad, but Jehoash of Israel later defeats Ben-Hadad three times and recovers the cities Hazael had taken. The prophetic phrase about fire devouring the palaces of Ben-Hadad also names his royal house in judgments against . He should be distinguished from , who aided , and , who fought Ahab and was murdered by Hazael.
