Son of Neriah who serves as 's and close companion through the final years of . He writes Jeremiah's oracles on a scroll that King cuts up and burns, then writes them out again at the prophet's dictation. After falls he is accused of inciting Jeremiah against the survivors and is carried with him down to Egypt, where Jeremiah delivers a personal oracle of preservation to him.
