Asriel was a son of through his Aramean concubine, counted among the clans of the half-tribe of Manasseh. He is listed in Numbers 26:31 as the founder of the Asrielite family, and in Joshua 17:2 his descendants are named among those who received an allotment of land west of the . In 1 Chronicles 7:14 he is again identified as a son of Manasseh by his concubine. Beyond his genealogical role as a clan ancestor, no further narrative material about him appears in the text.
