One of the three giant Anakim sons who held Hebron, seen by the Israelite spies and later driven out by Caleb when Judah took the land.
Who or what is this?
was one of three —along with and Talmai—dwelling in when the twelve spies reconnoitered (Numbers 13). The spies' report of these giant warriors contributed to Israel's fear and their forty-year delay in entering the land. When later requested Hebron as his inheritance, he drove out the three sons of Anak, including Ahiman, as recorded in 15. Judges 1 adds that killed Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai at Hebron, placing Ahiman's end there.
