Abidan son of Gideoni was the appointed leader of the tribe of during Israel's wilderness wanderings. He is named in Numbers 1 as the tribal prince assisting and in the first census, and his tribe's count was recorded as 35,400 fighting men. In Numbers 7 he presented his offering on the ninth day at the dedication of the tabernacle—two silver vessels, a golden spoon, and a full complement of burnt, sin, and peace offerings—identical in form to the offerings of the other tribal leaders.
