Who is this?

Hellenes — ethnic Greeks and, by extension, Greek-speaking throughout the eastern Mediterranean. In the Gospels and Acts they appear as inquirers, converts, and onlookers, and in 's letters they become the paradigmatic Gentile counterpart to the Jew ("to the Jew first, and also to the Greek"). Their inclusion alongside Israel is a defining theme of the early church's mission.
