Milcom is the national god of the , called 'the abomination of the children of Ammon.' goes after Milcom under the influence of his foreign wives, and that worship is named among the reasons the kingdom is torn from his house (1 Kings 11:5, 33). The high place Solomon built for Milcom east of stands until defiles it in his reform (2 Kings 23:13). Under the form Malcam, 's oracle against Ammon asks why the god has dispossessed Gad and announces that he will go into captivity with his priests and princes (Jeremiah 49:1, 3), and condemns those who swear by and also swear by Malcam (Zephaniah 1:5). He is distinct from , the deity associated with child sacrifice.
